In Search for Solitude

We all have our moments of reflection. We sit back and take stock of what has happened and how it shaped us. Could we, given a chance change a few things, our decisions, our ways, our attitude towards others, our relationships, etc.

Would that change been for a better today? Maybe.

Currently, in a frame of mind to just sit back n ponder.

Maybe post a little later.

Monday musings:)

Please Mr. Raj Thackeray & Gang

What is wrong with a handful of People?

Fear Psychosis?

Hidden Agenda?

Political Agenda?

Is Reservation Right in today’s India?

We have already seen, heard and read a lot about parochialism which has over-shadowed the Mumbai life in general.

Now today we have another salvo from the MNS – Maharashtra Navnirman Sena which has dashed off letters to 45000 private businesses that 80% jobs should be reserved for local people (including people who have been living in Mumbai for over 15 years)

We all know how the entire businesses had resisted the Central Government’s move which required that there be reservation in private businesses.

The entire gamut of reservations since India’s Independence has had its pros and cons and I personally am of the opinion that it has helped the have-nots to come up and lead a decent life. But then how many long years can it continue?

There are hordes of governmental schemes which have been there for the people from different sets of the society but how many have been successfully implemented? A very few.

As globally boundaries of nations do not resist any one anymore back home in India we are getting into archaic system of dividing people in the name of their caste, creed and what language they speak. It is lack of our education system that in all of our 50 years we haven’t even managed to inculcate the basics of life into a majority of our national population.

We Indians still do not treat human life as precious. See the crime rate which goes northwards every hour. Our employment exchanges across the nation are nothing but dumping grounds for data of unemployed youth.

Youth is the majority of India today. People in the age bracket of 25-30 make more than 50% of India. But what has the government given to them?

Everything you see today is done privately and that is the only reason India is where it is today. As a lawyer I can vouch that Government of India is still running on the basis of what framework of governance the Britishers left us with. It is time we break the shackles of British Raj with a heavy sweep of ancient laws and bring in the 21st century’s laws.

The huge talent bank which today is shaping India as one of the top economies of the world is not because it is reserved for a certain class/strata of people but it is what it is because it recognizes genius and garners it with lot of hard work.

Let us not join in the rhetoric fellow Indians and believe in true and equal opportunities for everyone who is educated and competitive.

Come together and pledge for One India and One Indian.
