All is Fair in Entertainment & Politics @ Sena V/s Shahrukh - North Indians

Politics & Films are strange bedfellows but they still are intertwined...blending perfectly sometimes...coming to blows too...

INDIA has never been as open a democracy as it is enshrined in the Constitution of India.

There is no such thing as Freedom of Speech.

Trust me when I say that.

Because most of the times when common people raise their voice against corruption and illegal activities their voices have been throttled right in the initial stage or midway.

The main reason behind this is our complete resignation to POWER...i.e.Politicians, Rich Businessmen and the so called DONs of the underworld.

Once upon a time everything seemed to be fine, perfect when the Shiv Sena used to abuse Pakistanis for harboring terrorists who went on a rampage in India and its role in the Ram Mandir Ayodhya struggle and the demolition of Babri Masjid.

But why has Shiv Sena suddenly become a favorite punching bag for all including its political ally BJP?

Why has Shiv Sena lost its base?

The reasons behind it are umpteen - beginning with the stand they took over the North Indian in Mumbai issue. Earlier they had north indian supporters and even a UP diwas was celebrated by the Sainiks with Uddhav Thackeray as the chief guest. But when in Feb 2009 Raj Thackeray hijacked the whole issue of North Indians v/s Marathi Manoos the Shiv Sena had to do something before it lost on all the conservative marathi votes which it had garnered over the last three decades.

Shiv Sena lost the Maharashtra elections and saw the rise of its bete noire Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) which had sweeped quite a few seats in the polls.

Shiv Sena then went on the offensive and started to go overtly sensitive to issues pertaining to the North Indian issue.

MNS and Shiv Sena have no plans for development of Maharashtra or the local manoos as they have termed it.

They are living in a fool's paradise that they would get to power by such divide and rule antics which was the signature style of the British who ruled India earlier.

But the latest salvo against Shahrukh Khan, against Pak & Australian cricketers, against North Indians not allowed to drive taxis in Mumbai etc. the Sena has faced the ire of the very common man who had once hailed them.

Today the Sena stands all alone in one corner while the whole world is taking potshots at them. Its a pity that a party which boasted of being Nationalist once has become parochial, untouchable and way behind in this era.

The visit of Rahul Gandhi is just another chapter in Sena's weening glory. The Gandhi lad whipped up much frenzy when he took the local train to go around the city and it brought immense joy to the onlookers and co-passengers who were shocked and surprised to see the high flier amidst them taking it all in the train.

But what Rahul did was a smart detour to avoid the Sena's ire which was evident where ever he went - with black flags shown everywhere.

In the four hours of Rahul's Mumbai visit he did utter the word BOMBAY at the student's gathering at Bhaidas Hall, Vile Parle, Mumbai. I am waiting for the Thackeray clan to take the next shot at him over this.

While the total people of the Shiv Sena arrested since 4th Feb 2010 night and morning / noon of 5th Feb 2010 was 400 odd, I am surprised that when the poor students from North India had arrived last year in Feb 2009 at Thane station who had been beaten and bruised by MNS goons and in the aftermath the total number of arrests were far less.

This goes on to show how the Congress & NCP Government of Maharashtra has fared.
They had half of Mumbai's police force alongwith the NSG from Delhi in attention for Rahul Gandhi and arrested 400 plus Shiv Sainiks who were going to protest by showing black flags....

But where were the same forces when the poor North Indians were being beaten by MNS Goons over days altogether?

Shahrukh Khan knows that his film - My Name Is Khan, won't release in Mumbai unless he apologises for his "i am hurt" statement during the IPL auction which excluded the Paki cricketers.

But then we all know how astute a businessman Karan Johar is - he rushed to MNS Raj Thackeray to apologise the last time his film Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani was stopped showing in Maharashtra as it used 'Bombay' instead of Mumbai in one of the dialogues of the film.

Lets see what happens next in this series called The Battle Over Marathi Manoos of Thackerays who actually dream that Mumbai and all its citizens are under their influence and control.

Let them dream!

Bombay aka Mumbai is for all and its one helluva city minus these opportunists politicians.

i agree with you.. These political parties are playing divide and rule game with us.. if it really had our welfare in mind it would have done so when it was in power in Maharashtra... Mumbai and for that matter every city, town, village belongs to every Indian..
